Pre-School StoryTime at Living Desert Zoo and Gardens State Park
Name: Pre-School StoryTime at Living Desert Zoo and Gardens State Park
Date:February 1, 2019
Time:9:30 AM - 11:30 AM MST
Living Desert Zoo and Gardens State Park hosts Pre-School StoryTime in the Visitor Center every Friday at 9:30 a.m. when school is in session. Upcoming dates and stories include:
February 1: "Porcupining: A Prickly Love Story" by Lisa Wheeler. Cushion is a porcupine who is very lonely. He lives in a petting zoo, but no one can pet him. He decides to find a friend, and is just about to give up, when he meets Barb, a hedgehog.
February 8: "Hokey Pokey: Another Prickly Love Story", by Lisa Wheeler. Cushion wants to learn how to dance because Barb loves to dance, but he keeps having 'accidents' when he tries to learn how to do the bunny hop, fox trot, and funky chicken.
February 22: "Guess How Much I Love You", by Sam McBratney. A little hare tells his father how much he loves him, and the father shows him he loves him more.
Open to children ages infant through 5 years accompanied by an adult, the program starts with songs and a story followed by an activity and a short walk through the zoo (weather permitting). The program in the Visitor Center is free: however, regular entrance fees apply to enter the zoo (children 6 and under are free, 7-12 $3, 13 and up $5). This is a great time to purchase a membership for Friends of the Living Desert, which covers your entrance fees for an entire year!
